  • Advocate with and on behalf of people with intellectual disability
  • Support individuals to gain confidence in their abilities
  • Assist them to achieve and meet their employment goals

Job Coach:

You will have the opportunity to work one on one with people and provide job readiness skills, job coaching and job placement. You will provide individualized support to people with developmental disabilities and facilitate their training and integration into a worksite. You will network with area employers to secure just the right job for those you support. You will help identify needed job accommodations and/or assistive technology needs. Help them to build natural supports. Provide trainings for job seekers in the areas of grooming, hygiene, communication, resume writing, interviewing, and behavior as related to successful employment. You will be able to attend trainings to become knowledgeable of strategies and current "best practices" in the field of supported employment.
